Goleta, CA – The Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Office Coroner’s Bureau has identified a motorcyclist killed in a crash on Highway 101 in Goleta on Monday afternoon as Dylan Monson, 22, Isla Vista.
The deadly wreck occurred at around 4:18 p.m. on June 29, 2026, on State Route 101 near Storke Road, according to the California Highway Patrol.
A 2015 BMW motorcycle collided with two vehicles before crashing into a guardrail.
Monson was fully ejected from the motorcycle and was declared dead at the scene.
The police said it was unclear whether alcohol or drugs contributed to the incident.

Goleta, CA – A motorcycle rider was killed in a two-vehicle crash Monday afternoon on Highway 101 in Goleta, according to emergency officials.
The crash was reported at approximately 4:20 p.m. on the northbound lanes of Highway 101 near the Glen Annie exit.
The Santa Barbara County Fire Department said a motorcycle and a black Tesla were involved in the collision.
The authorities said the motorcyclist sustained fatal injuries and died at the scene. The victim’s identity was not immediately released.
Firefighters from the Santa Barbara County Fire Department and officers with the California Highway Patrol responded to the scene.
The crash reduced northbound Highway 101 to a single open lane as emergency crews worked at the scene and investigators examined the collision.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
