Preliminary reports indicate that Luke Anree May Dizon, 18, of Covington, Washington, was driving a black Chrysler Pacifica northbound on Highway 101 when he drifted into the path of oncoming traffic and collided head-on with an oncoming school bus

Curry County, OR – An 18-year-old from Washington was killed in a collision between a vehicle and a motorhome in Curry County on Friday morning, according to the Oregon State Police.
The incident took place on Highway 101 near milepost 312 at around 8:20 a.m. on June 22.
Preliminary reports indicate that Luke Anree May Dizon, 18, of Covington, Washington, was driving a black Chrysler Pacifica northbound on Highway 101 when he drifted into the path of oncoming traffic and collided head-on with an oncoming school bus.
The bus, which had been converted into a motorhome, was driven by 73-year-old David Eugene Johansen of Fort Bragg. It is beleived that Dizon fell asleep at the wheel.
The OSP, Curry County Sherrif’s Office, Oregon Department of Transportation, and Gold Beach Fire Department responded to the site of the collision.
Dizon was decleared deceased at the scene following the collision.
A passenger in the Chrysler, identified as Maryanne Drake, 18, of Auburn, Washington, was transported to a hospital with serious injuries. Two other passengers in the Chrysler, both adults, were taken to a hospital with minor injuries.
The operator of the motorhome was not injured in the accident.
The cause of the accident remained under investigation by the Oregon State Police.
