Preliminary reports indicate that a man was walking across Antelope Road when a southbound 2025 Kia Telluride struck him.
Menifee, CA – A man was struck and severely injured by a vehicle near an intersection in Menifee on Friday afternoon, according to the Menifee Police Department.
The incident took place on Antelope Road and Chambers Avenue shortly after 4 p.m. on June 26.
Preliminary reports indicate that a man was walking across Antelope Road when a southbound 2025 Kia Telluride struck him. Authorities reported that there were no crosswalks near the site where the pedestrian was hit.
According to Menifee police, the driver of the Kia tried to swerve to avoid the pedestrian but was unsuccessful.
The pedestrian, only identified as a 72-year-old Menifee man, was transported to a hospital and was listed in critical condition.
The driver, also from Menifee, stopped at the scene and contacted the authorities. The driver was cooperative with law enforcement.
Police reported that drugs and/alcohol were not believed to have been a factor for the driver and no arrest was made.
The Menifee Police Department continues to investigate the exact circumstances of the accident.
