Beaverton, OR – Authorities have released the identity of a teenager who died at a hospital after being hit by a vehicle on Wednesday morning in Beaverton.

According to the Beaverton Police Department, Jacob Tran, 14, died following the collision that took place at about 6:21 a.m. June 24, on Scholls Ferry Road at Southwest Loon Drive.

According to the report, Tran was riding an electric scooter in a crosswalk through Southwest Scholls Ferry Road when he was hit by a vehicle operated by a 16-year-old boy.

Beaverton police and emergency crews responded at the scene shortly after and attended to the involved parties.

Tran was transported to a hospital with critical injuries and was later declared deceased at the hospital.

The driver, who was not hurt in the incident, stayed at the scene and was cooperative with law enforcement.

Southwest Scholls Ferry Road was temporarily closed at SW Loon Drive as authorities examined the scene.

The Beaverton Police Department is conducting an investigation to find out the exact circumstances of the crash and anyone with information is urged to contact 503-526-2261.
