According to the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s Office, Elverta Dunbar, 49, was killed in the accident that took place on West Gage Avenue and Vermont Avenue at about 12:40 a.m. June 22.

Los Angeles, CA – The woman who was killed in a crash involving three vehicles in the Harvard Heights neighborhood of Los Angeles early Monday morning has been identified.
According to the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s Office, Elverta Dunbar, 49, was killed in the accident that took place on West Gage Avenue and Vermont Avenue at about 12:40 a.m. June 22.
Authorities reported that a man driving on West Gage Avenue crashed into the rear of another vehicle at Vermont Avenue. The man then continued driving westbound on Gage Avenue and shortly after, collided with a white car at Normandie Avenue.
Dunbar was identified as the driver of the second vehicle that was struck by the westbound motorist. She sustained fatal injuries in the accident and was pronounced deceased at the scene.
It’s unclear whether anyone other parties involved in the accident were injured or needed to be transported to a hospital.
Authorities believe the man driving the westbound vehicle that caused the accident may have been under the influence of alcohol or drugs. No arrest has since been announced in connection with the accident.
Further details on the crash were not immediately available. The Los Angeles Police Department continues to investigate to establish the cause of the crash.
