According to California Highway Patrol logs, the incident was reported around 2:56 a.m. in the northbound lanes of the freeway just south of Glendale Boulevard.

Los Angeles, CA – At least one person died in a traffic collision that happened early Friday morning on the 5 Freeway in Los Angeles.
According to California Highway Patrol logs, the incident was reported around 2:56 a.m. in the northbound lanes of the freeway just south of Glendale Boulevard.
First responders found a gray Toyota Prius blocking the No. 1 lane, a gray sedan in the center divider, and two other vehicles on the right shoulder.
One person was also located down in the center divider, but it was unclear if they were a pedestrian involved in the collision or an occupant of one of the cars.
The report said at least one person died in the crash.
At least two lanes were closed for about three hours following the accident. The lanes were reopened at 5:55 a.m.
CHP is investigating the collision.
