Watsonville, CA – Carlos Angeles has been identified as one of the teens killed in a two-vehicle collision that happened Sunday night at an intersection in Watsonville.
A 17-year-old girl also died in the crash that happened around 8:45 p.m. on June 14, 2026, at East Lake Avenue and Casserly Road.
Angeles was driving a 2026 Toyota Camry eastbound through the intersection when the car collided with a white Infiniti driven westbound on East Lake Avenue by a 19-year-old Watsonville man. The Camry came to rest beneath a billboard on the dirt shoulder.
Watsonville Fire, Cal Fire, and California Highway Patrol officers were among the crews who responded to the scene.
Angeles and the 17-year-old girl died in the collision. A GoFundMe page was opened to help Angeles’ family raise funds to cater for feneral expenses.
The occupants of the Infiniti were trapped inside. Firefighters spent about an hour cutting through the Infiniti to access the victims. Two occupants in the car sustained major injuries. One of them was airlifted by Calstar to Santa Cruz County Fairgrounds, and the other was taken by ground ambulance to an out-of-county trauma center.
The driver of the Infiniti was arrested following the collision.
Authorities are investigating to establish the factors that led to the accident.

Watsonville, CA. – One person was killed in a two-car accident on Sunday night in Watsonville.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident happened at Casserly Road and State Route 152 at around 8:47 p.m.
Officers who responded to the scene found two vehicles that had collided. The events leading up to the accident were not immediately determined.
One person was killed in the accident.
