According to California Highway Patrol, a Hyundai Sonata traveling northbound on Highway 101 slammed into the rear of a Ford Escape that had slowed down for traffic ahead.

Maryann Parrish Killed in Santa Rosa Crash on Highway 101 near Highway 12

Santa Rosa, CA – The woman who was killed in a multi-vehicle collision in Santa Rosa on Wednesday morning has been identified as Maryann Parrish, 47, of Santa Rosa, according to the authorities.

The incident transpired on Highway 101 near Highway 12 at around 7:55 a.m. on Wednesday, June 3.

According to California Highway Patrol, a Hyundai Sonata traveling northbound on Highway 101 slammed into the rear of a Ford Escape that had slowed down for traffic ahead.

Shortly after, a Chevrolet 5500 utility truck slammed into the back of the Hyundai. The force of the collision pushed the Ford and the Hyundai into the right lane, where they crashed into a Hyundai Santa Fe.

CHP and emergency crews responded to the site of the collision and rendered aid to the involved parties.

The driver of the Hyundai, later identified as Parrish, was declared deceased at the scene. There were no other injuries reported in the incident.

All northbound lanes of Highway 101 were shut down for hours as authorities worked to clear the scene.

The California Highway Patrol is still working to establish the exact cause of the accident.
