According to California Highway Patrol logs, the incident was reported around 1:11 a.m., May 3, on the Crenshaw Boulevard on-ramp to the westbound 10 Freeway.
A pedestrian was struck by a black Jeep Liberty under unclear circumstances.
The Los Angeles Fire Department responded to the scene and found the victim lying face down on the on-ramp.
The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene. A coroner representative responded following the fatality.
The on-ramp remained blocked for about 2 hours during the investigation.
