Ontario, CA – One person was killed in a two-vehicle crash on Interstate 15 in Ontario early Tuesday morning, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The fatal collision occurred on the southbound I-15 just north of Jurupa Avenue at approximately 4:47 a.m.
According to the CHP, two vehicles, including a white sedan and a work truck, were involved in the crash. The collision left the vehicles blocking multiple lanes, with only the far-right lane initially open to traffic.
One individual was found partially ejected from a vehicle and was later pronounced dead at the scene at approximately 5:06 a.m. The name of the victim was not immediately released. Additional injuries have not been confirmed. No arrests have been reported.
Emergency responders, including fire personnel and paramedics, arrived at the scene and took over CPR efforts before the victim was pronounced deceased. Authorities also requested the coroner to respond.
The crash prompted a SigAlert at approximately 5:06 a.m., with lanes 1, 2, and 3 closed and traffic heavily impacted in the area. A hard closure was initiated, and traffic was diverted as crews worked to clear the scene.
The incident remains under investigation by the California Highway Patrol.
