Orcutt, CA – Several people were injured in a multi-vehicle collision on Saturday night near Orcutt, according to the Santa Barbara County Fire Department.
The wreck took place at about 7:42 p.m. April 25, on Highway 135 between E. Forester Road and Shirley Lane.
Preliminary reports indicate that a pickup truck and two sedans were involved in the collision. The three collided on the southbound side of Highway 135 under unclear circumstances.
One person in one of the sedans was trapped in the wreckage and had to be extricated by the Santa Barbara County Fire Department crews, who responded to the scene shortly after.
Two people in that sedan and one party in the second sedan were all taken to a hospital by ambulance. According to the report, the three sustained moderate injuries.
The driver of the pickup truck declined to be transported. The people involved in the collision were not immediately identified.
The crash led to a temporary closure of Highway 135 as emergency crews helped the involved parties. The highway was reopened before 9 p.m.
No arrests or citations were issued following the incident and authorities are currently working to find out its cause.
