King City, CA – One person was killed in a fiery head-on crash on Metz Road in King City Friday evening, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The incident took place at about 5:32 p.m. on April 24 at 43850 Metz Road (Metz-King City Road)

Officers responded to the scene and located a black Ford Fusion and a gray Ram pickup were involved in a head-on collision. One of the vehicles was reportedly traveling in the opposite direction prior to the crash. The impact caused both vehicles to catch fire, with flames engulfing them shortly after the collision.

One male victim was found on the ground with injuries outside of one of the vehicles. Authorities later confirmed that at least one person was killed in the crash. The total number of injured parties has not been released. No arrests have been reported.

Emergency responders, including fire personnel, arrived at the scene and worked to extinguish the flames while traffic in the area was shut down. Authorities also requested a coroner response and coordinated towing for two completely burned vehicles.

The crash resulted in road closures along Metz Road as crews conducted their investigation and cleared the scene.

The incident remains under investigation by the California Highway Patrol.
