According to the Ventura County Medical Examiner’s Office, Anneliese Haack, 89, of Simi Valley, died following the incident that happened at about 4:40 p.m. on April 14, near Cochran Street and Stearns Street

Simi Valley, CA – The pedestrian who was hit and killed by a car at an intersection in Simi Valley earlier this month has been identified.
According to the Ventura County Medical Examiner’s Office, Anneliese Haack, 89, of Simi Valley, died following the incident that happened at about 4:40 p.m. on April 14, near Cochran Street and Stearns Street.
Preliminary reports indicate that a pickup truck struck Haack as she was crossing the intersection outside of the crosswalk. The circumstances under which crash happened were not yet established.
The Simi Valley Police Department and Ventura County Fire Department crews arrived at the scene shortly after and found Haack lying in the street.
Haack was pronounced deceased at the scene of the accident by the paramedics.
According to Simi Valley police, the driver of the involved pickup truck stayed at the scene and was cooperative with law enforcement.
The Simi Valley Police Department is conducting an investigation to determine the exact events that led to the deadly pedestrian accident.
