Fresno, CA – A man was hospitalized after being hit by a train on Thursday evening in Central Fresno, according to the Fresno Police Department.

At about 8:12 p.m. April 23, authorities were called to the scene of a collision near Effie Street and Hammond Avenue.

Upon arrival at the scene, police located a man with injuries. Preliminary reports indicate that the man had been hit by a train while attempting to walk across the tracks.

Emergency crews attended to the pedestrian, who sustained injuries to his right leg.

The man was transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The victim’s name and age were not released in the BPD report.

The occupants of the train did not report any injuries following the accident.
