Palm Springs, CA – Three people were injured in a crash between two vehicles near Palm Springs on Monday afternoon, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The wreck took place at around 12:28 p.m. April 20, on Dillon Road west of Valley View Drive.

Investigators reported that a Subaru SUV was traveling westbound on Dillon Road when it tried to make a U-turn and crashed head-on with an eastbound Mazda sedan. The sedan had been traveling east on Dillon Road at the time of the collision

The California Highway Patrol officers and emergency crews arrived at the scene shortly after the incident and attended to the individuals involved in the collision.

Both drivers and a passenger in the Subaru were all transported to Desert Regional Medical Center in Palm Springs.

The identities of the involved parties and the extent of their injuries were not immediately released.

The circumstances of the crash were still yet to be determined and authorities have not confirmed whether alcohol or drugs played any role in the incident.
