Cajon Pass, CA – One person was injured when a disabled vehicle in the roadway triggered a multi-vehicle collision in Cajon Pass early Sunday morning.
The accident, according to the California Highway Patrol, took place on Interstate 15, nearly one mile from the Highway 138 exit at around 12:59 a.m. on April 19.
Authorities reported that a red car was disabled in the northbound side of I-15 for unknown reasons. Two other vehicles got into a collision with the disabled car shortly after.
The vehicles were spread across the northbound lanes after collision, prompting authorities to close the lanes for cleanup and removal of the vehicles from the roadway.
Medics transported one involved party to a hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries. No other injuries were reported in the incident.
It’s unclear whether alcohol or drugs played any role in the incident. No arrests were reported in connection with the crash.
The cause of the collision remains under investigation by the California Highway Patrol.
