Eureka, CA – A man was hospitalized after reportedly being hit by a vehicle on Wednesday morning in Eureka.
According to the Eureka Police Department, the accident transpired at around 11:30 a.m. April 15, on West Harris Street near Ocean Avenue.
Investigations revealed that a man was attempting to walk across the street when a grey Nissan Frontier struck him. It’s unclear why the pedestrian was hit in the street.
Eureka police and emergency personnel responded to the incident and found the pedestrian unresponsive at the scene.
Medics transported the victim by ambulance to a hospital with minor injuries. His identity was not immediately released but EPD described him as a man in his 40s.
There was no information provided on the driver of the involved vehicle and no arrests were immediately announced.
An EPD vehicle was struck by another motorist at the scene but there were no reports of any injuries.
The crash caused the closure of West Harris Street for an unspecified duration as authorities investigated the incident.
