Woman Suffers Non-Life-Threatening Injuries Being Attacked by Dogs in Long Beach

Long Beach, CA – A woman was injured after she was attacked by at least one dog Sunday afternoon near the Los Angeles River in Long Beach.

According to the Long Beach Police Department, the incident was reported around 1:45 p.m. on April 12 near the river and Anaheim Street.

Police officers responded to the scene and used a baton to strike the animal and deploy a Taser to separate the dog from the woman.

The woman suffered non-life-threatening injuries to her upper body. She was taken to the hospital for treatment.

Investigators later determined that two dogs were involved in the attack. Both animals were captured and taken to the Animal Control Unit.

It was unclear who, if anyone, owns the dogs.

An investigation is ongoing.
