Oroville, CA – The California Highway Patrol is investigating a major injury traffic collision that occurred at an intersection in Oroville Saturday afternoon.
The incident involving two vehicles happened at the intersection of Wilbur Road and State Route 162 at approximately 3:30 p.m.
Investigators said a white Jeep collided with a gray Ford F-250 under unclear circumstances. The impact caused major front-end damage to one of the vehicles, and a bumper was blocking the roadway.
One party became trapped inside a vehicle after a door became lodged.
Authorities said at least one person sustained severe injuries in the crash
Emergency responders, including fire personnel, arrived at the scene to assist with extrication efforts and to secure the area.
There were delays at the intersection as crews worked to clear the damaged vehicles from the roadway.
The incident remains under investigation by the California Highway Patrol.
