Investigators said a gold Subaru sedan was traveling at a high rate of speed when it failed to slow down and crashed into the rear of a tow truck that was stopped on the right-hand side of the roadway. The impact caused both vehicles to catch fire, with one vehicle becoming fully engulfed in flames. Nearby brush also ignited as a result of the crash.
Authorities confirmed that at least one person was killed in the incident. Additional details regarding injuries or any arrests were not immediately available.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation, but speed and failure to stop are considered possible contributing factors.
Emergency responders, including fire crews, arrived at the scene to extinguish the flames and manage the situation.
