Investigations reveal that a Toyota sedan was traveling eastbound on Dersch Road when it swerved across the double yellow lines and collided with an oncoming motorcyclist

Anderson, CA – A motorcycle rider was killed in a collision with a vehicle at an intersection in Shasta County on Monday evening, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The wreck happened at around 6:30 p.m. April 6, on Dersch Road and Bent Ranch Road.
Investigations reveal that a Toyota sedan was traveling eastbound on Dersch Road when it swerved across the double yellow lines and collided with an oncoming motorcyclist. The rider was thrown from the motorcycle as a result of the accident.
CHP reports that the motorcycle rider was declared deceased at the scene. The victim was only identified as a 52-year-old Anderson man.
The driver of the Toyota, a 60-year-old Shingletown man, was treated for minor injuries.
Initial reports indicate that alcohol and drugs were not suspected to have played a role in the accident.
The California Highway Patrol is conducting an investigation to determine the exact cause of the accident.
