Investigations revealed that a woman was walking east across Chester Avenue in a crosswalk when she was hit by a 2008 Hyundai traveling southbound

Oildale, CA – A woman was hospitalized with major injuries after being struck by a vehicle in Oildale on Saturday night.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident was reported at about 8:22 p.m. April 4, in the area of North Chester and Harding avenues.
Investigations revealed that a woman was walking east across Chester Avenue in a crosswalk when she was hit by a 2008 Hyundai traveling southbound.
The man driving the involved vehicle stayed at the scene and was cooperative with the investigators. Authorities determined that alcohol and drugs were not factors in the accident.
Emergency crews responded to the scene and the victim was transported to Kern Medical for treatment of major injuries. The victim was not immediately identified.
No additional information on the incident were available. The California Highway Patrol officers are investigating the incident.
