Menifee, CA – A man was killed after his vehicle collided with a utility truck at an intersection in Menifee late Friday night, according to the Menifee Police Department.

The Riverside County Sheriff-Coroner’s Bureau identified the deceased as Taylor Williamson, a 54-year-old resident of Homeland.

The fatal collision occurred on Menifee Road, approximately 105 feet north of McLaughlin Road, at approximately 8:00 p.m. on April 3, 2026, the Menifee Police Department reported.

Preliminary investigation showed that a Southern California Edison utility truck pulling a wooden electrical pole was turning left from a substation driveway onto Menifee Road. A 2024 Toyota Prius, operated by Williamson, struck the wooden pole being towed by the truck.

Williamson suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene at about 8:08 p.m. No other injuries were reported, and no arrests have been made in connection with the incident.

Investigators do not believe that alcohol or drugs were a factor in the deadly collision.

The Menifee Police Department and the Riverside County Fire Department responded to the scene.

The impact of the crash caused major damage to the Toyota Prius and led to a temporary closure of the roadway near the substation while officers conducted an on-scene investigation.

The incident remains under investigation by the Menifee Police Department.
