Rowland Heights, CA – An elderly man in a wheelchair was seriously injured in a vehicle versus pedestrian crash on Colima Road in Rowland Heights Thursday morning, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Preliminary reports indicate a Toyota sedan, later identified as a gray Toyota Camry, struck an elderly male who was in a wheelchair. The victim was found on the ground and bleeding following the collision.
The elderly pedestrian sustained serious injuries in the crash. There were no immediate reports of arrests.
Los Angeles County Fire Department crews responded to the scene to provide medical aid and later conducted a roadway washdown. Authorities temporarily shut down all lanes of eastbound Colima Road at Banida Avenue to manage the situation and investigate.
The collision caused significant traffic disruption in the area, with all lanes blocked for a period before the roadway was eventually cleared.
