San Jose, CA – A pedestrian was hit and killed in a crash that took place in San Jose on Monday night, according to the San Jose Police Department.
The crash occurred on Almaden Expressway and San Jose Avenue at around 9:45 p.m. March 16.
According to the authorities, the pedestrian was walking from the center median across the Almaden Expressway when he was struck by a 2007 gray Dodge SUV traveling south. The victim was not in the crosswalk when he was hit.
The SJPD officers and emergency crews arrived at the scene shortly after and found the pedestrian with major injuries.
He was rushed to a hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries. His identity is yet to be released by the Santa Clara County Medical Examiner’s Office.
The driver stayed at the scene and was cooperative with law enforcement.
The San Jose Police Department is conducting an ongoing investigation to determine the cause of the accident.
