Lake County, CA – A Sunday night collision on State Route 20 in the Clearlake Oaks area of Lake County left one person dead and another injured, according to the California Highway Patrol logs.

A Honda SUV and another vehicle were involved in the collision. Reportedly, one of the vehicles was traveling eastbound when it veered into the westbound lane and collided with the second oncoming vehicle. One of the vehicles went off the roadway after the impact.
Two people, one in each vehicle, were trapped inside.
Cal Fire St. Helena firefighters responded to the scene and freed the victims. One person was airlifted to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital, and the other was taken by ground ambulance to Adventist Health Clearlake.
One person later died from their injuries. The report did not specify which person died. The other patient remained in unknown condition.
The report mentioned that impairment was a contributing factor but did not give more details.
Authorities are investigating to determine the cause of the collision.
