Live Oak County, TX – One person was killed and several others were injured following a two-vehicle crash on FM 624 in Live Oak County on Friday morning, according to the Texas Highway Patrol.
The fatal collision occurred at approximately 8:48 a.m. on February 27 near County Road 163.
Investigators reported that a 2019 Ford F-150 pickup truck was traveling westbound on FM 624 when it veered out of its lane and entered the eastbound side of the roadway. The pickup then collided head-on with a 2020 Dodge Ram traveling in the opposite direction. The impact caused the Dodge Ram to overturn onto its side off the roadway.
A passenger in the Dodge Ram, identified as 72-year-old Rolando Adame of Corpus Christi, was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Ram sustained injuries and was transported to CHRISTUS Spohn Shoreline Hospital in Corpus Christi for medical treatment. Both the driver and a female passenger in the Ford F-150 were also injured and were taken to CHRISTUS Spohn Hospital in Alice. No arrests have been reported in connection with the crash.
The exact cause of the Live Oak County crash has not yet been determined as authorities continue to examine the circumstances surrounding the lane departure.
Troopers from the Texas Highway Patrol office in George West responded to the scene and are leading the ongoing investigation.
The collision temporarily disrupted traffic along FM 624 near County Road 163 as emergency crews worked to assist victims and clear the wreckage from the roadway.
The incident remains under investigation.
