Pierce County, WA – One person was hurt in a multi-vehicle collision near Lakewood in Pierce County on Wednesday afternoon, the Washington State Department of Transportation reported.
At around 2:30 p.m. February 25, authorities received reports of a crash on Interstate 5 near the State Route 512 interchange.
According to investigators, four vehicles were reportedly involved in the wreck in the southbound lanes of I-5. How and why the vehicles collided were not immediately established.
Emergency medical personnel arrived shortly after and assessed the involved parties.
A woman riding in one of the vehicles was transported by ambulance to a hospital with minor injuries. There was no update on the condition of other involved parties.
The circumstances of the crash were yet to be determined and no arrests were made at the scene.
According to the Washington State Department of Transportation, the accident caused closures on lanes one and two of southbound Interstate 5 as crews examined and cleared the scene.
