Orcutt, CA – Authorities responded to a multi-vehicle collision with injuries on State Route 135 south of Orcutt on Tuesday morning, according to California Highway Patrol.

At around 8:40 a.m. February 24, authorities received reports of a collision just north of the Highway 1 and SR 135 split.

Through investigation, CHP learned that a Honda Accord experienced a tire blowout and crashed into the center divider. Two other vehicles were involved in a collision with the Honda.

Two vehicles pulled over to the northbound center divider while a black SUV pulled to the right shoulder. Two of the vehicles had major front-end damage.

The Santa Barbara County Fire Department personnel attended to several occupants of the involved vehicles.

Three patients were transported by ambulance to hospitals with minor to moderate injuries. The names of the injured patients were not immediately released.

The accident caused the closure of southbound Highway 135 as authorities investigated and cleared the scene.

No further details on the incident were immediately provided. The California Highway Patrol officers are actively investigating to ascertain the cause of the accident.
