Selma, CA – Authorities are investigating a deadly motorcycle collision that took place near Selma in Fresno County on Monday afternoon.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the wreck happened shortly before 1 p.m. February 23, near Temperance and Clemenceau avenues.
Investigations into the incident reveal that a motorcyclist was trying to overtake a garbage truck that was attempting to make a left turn. However, the rider ended up striking the turning truck.
CHP officers and emergency crews immediately responded to reports of the collision.
The motorcyclist was declared deceased at the scene. The CHP report did not include the victim’s age, name or gender.
Details on the driver of the involved garbage truck were also not released.
At this time, the California Highway Patrol is still investigating to ascertain the circumstances of the crash and further details are expected to be released.
