Visalia, CA – A motorcyclist was injured in a collision with a vehicle at an intersection in Visalia on Monday morning, according to the Visalia Police Department.
The wreck took place in the area of Riggin Avenue and Plaza Drive at about 6:30 a.m. February 23.
According to preliminary reports, a motorcyclist was traveling westbound on Riggin Avenue when they failed to stop for a red light and crashed into a semi-truck heading north on Plaza Drive.
The VPD officers along with emergency crews responded to the scene shortly after receiving reports of the incident.
After assessing the motorcyclist, medics transported the rider to Kaweah Health for treatment. There was no update on the condition and identity of the injured rider.
The operator of the big rig was uninjured and stayed at the scene after the accident. The driver cooperated with the authorities.
The Visalia Police Department Traffic Unit is conducting an investigation into the incident.
