Orangevale, CA – A pedestrian was hit and killed by two vehicles in Orangevale in Sacramento County on Sunday evening, according to the California Highway Patrol.

At about 8:30 p.m. February 22, authorities were called to the scene of a collision on Greenback Lane, just west of Main Avenue.

Preliminary reports indicate that a pedestrian was attempting to walk across the roadway outside of the crosswalk when they were hit by a vehicle. Shortly after, the pedestrian was struck by a second vehicle.

The California Highway Patrol officers and the Sacramento Metro Fire responded to the site of the accident a few minutes later.

The pedestrian was confirmed deceased at 8:44 p.m. at the scene. The victim’s identity was not immediately released pending notification of the next-of-kin.

The two drivers remained at the scene and were cooperative with the investigators. According to the report, impairment and speed were not believed to have played any role in the collision.

No further details were immediately available. The cause of the accident remains under investigation by the California Highway Patrol.
