Los Angeles County, CA – At least one person suffered minor injuries in a two-vehicle crash on Interstate 605 in Bassett on Friday afternoon, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The collision occurred at approximately 2:07 p.m. on Friday, February 20, 2026, on northbound Interstate 605 just north of Valley Boulevard.
Authorities reported that a red crew truck collided with a white semi-truck, striking the semi’s gas tank and blocking the No. 3 Lane. The crew truck was later identified as a red Ford F-550 towing a trailer loaded with a Bobcat loader. Due to the attached trailer and heavy equipment, officers indicated that heavy-duty towing assistance might be required because of the unknown weight.
At least one person sustained minor injuries in the Bassett crash. However, no fatalities or arrests were reported in connection with the incident.
The cause of the two-vehicle collision remains under investigation as authorities work to determine what led to the crash.
Freeway Service Patrol units were dispatched to assist between beats 37 and 61, and a heavy-duty tow truck was requested to remove the damaged Ford F-550 and its trailer from the roadway.
The crash caused traffic delays along northbound Interstate 605 as the No. 3 Lane remained blocked while crews worked to clear the scene and restore traffic flow.
The incident remains under investigation by the California Highway Patrol.
