Aloha, OR – A driver has been arrested following a hit-and-run crash that left a pedestrian seriously injured on SW Tualatin Valley Highway in Aloha on February 13, according to the Washington County Sheriff’s Office.

The collision occurred at the intersection of SW Tualatin Valley Highway and SW 178th Avenue at approximately 6:34 p.m. on Friday, February 13, 2026. Deputies responded after community members reported that a man had been struck by a vehicle that failed to stop.

Investigators determined that a 31-year-old man was in the roadway when he was hit by a truck. The vehicle involved was later identified as a 2010 Ford F-150. Authorities said the driver did not remain at the scene to check on the victim. Video from a nearby business showed the truck, described as a black, full-size pickup with a four-door cab. The driver was believed to be a woman with blonde hair.

The victim suffered serious injuries and was assisted by bystanders before deputies arrived. He was later treated for his injuries. Following an investigation and a tip from a community member received on Tuesday, February 17, deputies identified the driver as 43-year-old Amber Peterson of Aloha. Peterson was located, arrested, and booked on charges of Assault in the Third Degree and hit-and-run. Authorities said additional charges may be filed as the investigation continues.

The cause of the Aloha crash remains under investigation as detectives continue to review evidence and gather additional information.

The Washington County Crash Analysis and Reconstruction Team responded to the scene to lead the investigation. Deputies also seized the 2010 Ford F-150 as evidence.

The crash prompted a significant law enforcement presence at the intersection while authorities documented the scene and collected evidence. Community members played a key role by assisting the injured man and later providing information that led to the arrest.
