Newberg, OR – One person was airlifted with major injuries after a Tuesday night collision at an intersection just outside Newberg.
According to the Tualatin Valley Fire & Rescue, the accident was reported at about 5:45 p.m. February 17, at the Northeast North Valley Road and Ribbon Ridge Road intersection.
Preliminary reports indicate that two cars were involved in the accident and were heavily damaged. One person was also trapped in the wreckage after the collision.
Firefighters with the TVFR responded shortly after and helped extricate the trapped person from their vehicle.
The extricated party was transported to a hospital by Life Flight but authorities did not specify the extent of their injuries.
There was no update on the condition of the other involved motorist.
The intersection was temporarily blocked as crews worked to clear the debris from the crash.
The identities of the involved parties have not been released at this time. The accident remains under investigation.
