Yuba County, CA – One person was killed in a collision between a vehicle and a train in Yuba County early Teesday morning.
According to California Highway Patrol logs, the incident took place along State Route 65 north of Dairy Road at about 2:13 a.m. February 17
The CHP reported that a white Toyota Prius collided with a Union Pacific freight train on the tracks under unclear circumstances. The impact caused the Toyota to roll over.
Personnel with Union Pacific contacted the authorities after the crash. The train was stopped on the tracks when the authorities arrived.
CHP reported that the driver of the Toyota was declared deceased following the crash and was only identified as a 58-year-old woman. Her name was withheld pending notification of the next-of-kin.
No one on the train reported any injuries in the collision.
