Federal Way, WA– One person was killed in a collision that caused two vehicles to catch fire in Federal Way on Sunday morning.
According to the police, the collision was reported at around 8:05 a.m. February 15, on 356th Street and Enchanted Parkway.
Authorities reported that an alleged reckless motorist was driving south on Enchanted Parkway when they collided with a vehicle stopped at a traffic light. The two vehicles burst into flames and were pushed into the intersection, where they collided with another vehicle.
Shortly after, the three vehicles got into a collision with two additional vehicles traveling northbound on Enchanted Parkway.
One of the drivers was declared deceased at the scene. A second driver was taken to Harborview Medical Center with major injuries while the suspected reckless motorist was hospitalized with less serious injuries.
According to investigators, the driver who caused the crash displayed signs of intoxication and was arrested for suspected vehicular homicide and vehicular assault.
No additional details have been released at this time. Authorities continue to investigate the deadly collision.
