Gonzales, CA – One person died, and at least two others were injured in a single-vehicle collision that happened Monday afternoon in Gonzales, the California Highway Patrol reported.

A car struck a power pole in the area under unclear circumstances.
A passenger of the vehicle reported that the driver was under the influence of alcohol, and she pulled them out of the car after the crash. A baby was still inside the vehicle.
Firefighters and AMR responded to the scene and found a male party down on the right shoulder and a younger woman out of the car, both bleeding.
Paramedics administered CPR to at least one person who sustained major injuries.
The report said at least one person died from injuries sustained in the accident.
All the injured parties, including the juvenile, were transported to Natividad Medical Center in unknown condition.
The vehicle was towed away for evidence.
An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
