A yellow truck and a black SUV were involved in the accident. A third vehicle may have also been involved.
Firefighters responded and pronounced at least one person dead at the scene.
It was unclear if any other person was injured in the collision.
Several lanes on the transition road were blocked following the accident.
CHP is investigating the collision.
