Los Angeles, CA – Two people were hospitalized after a collision involving a Metro light rail train in the Exposition Park neighbourhood of Los Angeles on Sunday afternoon.
According to the Los Angeles Fire Department, the wreck was reported at about 4 p.m. December 28, near Exposition Boulevard and Raymond Avenue.
Authorities reported that a small compact car crashed into the train. Authorities were still working to find out what led up to the accident.
The LAFD crews evaluated the two occupants of the vehicle. The two were transported to a hospital with unspecified injuries. The passengers on the train were assessed and were determined to be uninjured.
Metro E-Line passengers faced major disruptions as there was no service between the Vermont and Western stations and bus shuttles were used to carry passengers in the area near the crash scene.
Authorities are still working to determine the cause of the collision.

Alcohol-involved collisions also contributed significantly to the 2022 statistics, with 1,676 victims killed and injured.
