Kent, WA – A woman was hit and killed by a vehicle at an intersection in Kent on Friday evening, according to the Kent Police Department.
The wreck happened on 108th Avenue SE and SE 224th Street just before 5 p.m. December 26.
Kent police reported that a 37-year-old woman was walking west across 108th Avenue SE outside of the crosswalk when she was hit by a southbound SUV.
Police arrived at the scene shortly after and found the woman unconscious. The officers performed CPR on the victim until personnel from the Puget Sound Fire responded.
The victim was taken to Harborview Medical Center with critical injuries and was later declared deceased at the hospital. The driver of the SUV, a 55-year-old woman, remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigators.
Speed and DUI were not suspected to have played a role in the incident, police reported. The accident remains under investigation.
