Los Angeles, CA – One person died in a single-car accident in East Los Angeles early Thursday morning, according to the the California Highway Patrol.

At about 1:40 a.m. December 25, authorities were called to the scene of a collision on East Olympic Boulevard and Allston Street.

According to a CHP report, a vehicle crashed near the intersection and burst into flames. Details on what led up to the collision were not immediately released.

The CHP and Los Angeles County Fire Department responded to the scene and located the single vehicle involved in the accident fully engulfed in flames.

Medics pronounced the driver dead at the scene. The driver’s identity was not immediately released.

There were no additional details on the incident. The California Highway Patrol is investigating to establish the cause of the collision.
