San Francisco, CA.- Several people were injured in a multi-vehicle collision near San Francisco on Saturday morning.

According to the San Francisco Fire Department, the incident took place on the San Francisco-Oakland Bay Bridge shortly before 4 a.m. November 1.

Multiple vehicles crashed on the eastbound lanes of the Bay Bridge east of Treasure Island.

Details on what may have caused the crash were not available.

At least eight people were injured in the crash.

One patient with life-threatening injuries was rushed to Highland Hospital for treatment.

Four other patients were transported with less severe injuries and three others declined transportation.

Authorities are working to determine the cause of the accident.
