According to the California Highway Patrol, Nikolay Shipilov, 80, of Sacramento, was walking near Linda Rio Drive and Tiber Drive when a vehicle struck him at around 11:10 a.m. July 24.
La Riviera, CA.- An elderly pedestrian died two months after being struck by a vehicle in La Riviera.
According to the California Highway Patrol, Nikolay Shipilov, 80, of Sacramento, was walking near Linda Rio Drive and Tiber Drive when a vehicle struck him at around 11:10 a.m. July 24.
A Chevrolet van reportedly failed to yield while making a turn from Linda Rio Drive onto Tiber Drive and struck the pedestrian, who was crossing Tiber Drive at an unmarked crosswalk.
Shipilov was transported to a hospital, where he was pronounced deceased on Saturday, September 27.
The driver remained at the scene after the accident.
As of Monday night, no arrests had been made in connection with the accident.
The CHP is conducting an investigation into the collision.
