San Diego, CA. – A 31-year-old woman who was walking in the center median of a street in San Diego died after she was struck by a car.
The incident happened at La Jolla Village Drive and Genesee Avenue near the Westfield UTC mall.
According to the San Diego Police Department, the woman was walking in the center median when she stepped off and into the eastbound inside lane of La Jolla Village Drive.
The pedestrian was struck by a passing sedan.
The woman was taken to a hospital, where she died from her injuries.
Authorities said DUI was not a factor in the crash.
An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
