According to California Highway Patrol, a Toyota pickup truck struck Guthrie in the area under unclear circumstances

Oildale, CA.- The pedestrian who was hit and killed by a vehicle in Oildale on Sunday night has been identified by the Kern County Coroner’s Office.
Adam Clayton Guthrie, 42, of Bakersfield, died following the incident that occurred on North Chester Avenue and Roberts Lane at about 8:47 p.m. August 17.
According to California Highway Patrol, a Toyota pickup truck hit Guthrie in the area under unclear circumstances.
Guthrie was rushed to Kern Medical with major injuries and was pronounced deceased at 12:20 a.m. on Tuesday.
The driver of the truck was not suspected of DUI, according to the CHP.
The accident is under investigation.
