According to investigators, Abukarsh was driving a Toyota Camry when he veered over the double-yellow lines and into the path of an eastbound GMC Sierra.

Discovery Bay, CA. – 30-year-old Muafak Abukarsh of Antioch died in a head-on collision that happened Thursday morning in Discovery Bay, according to the Contra Costa County Sheriff’s Department.
The wreck occurred around 10:19 a.m., August 14, on westbound Highway 4 east of Discovery Bay Boulevard.
According to investigators, Abukarsh was driving a Toyota Camry when he veered over the double-yellow lines and into the path of an eastbound GMC Sierra.
The vehicles collided head-on, killing Abukarsh at the scene.
The driver of the Sierra was airlifted to the hospital with major injuries.

Discovery Bay, CA – The California Highway Patrol has confirmed that one person was killed and another was seriously injured in a head-on traffic collision on Highway 4 in Discovery Bay Thursday morning.
The deadly collision happened at about 10:19 a.m. on westbound Highway 4, just east of Discovery Bay Boulevard.
According to CHP, a Toyota Camry was traveling eastbound on Highway 4 when, for some reason, it crossed and collided head-on with a westbound GMC Sierra.
The driver of the Toyota died at the scene. The driver of the GMC was airlifted to the hospital with major injuries.
Both drivers were only identified as adult males.
No additional information was provided.
The incident remains under investigation.
