The deadly crash happened on August 12 at around 2:30 p.m. on Highway 247, south of La Brisa Drive.

Yucca Valley, CA – One person was killed and another was critically injured following a crash caused by a suspected DUI driver on Old Woman Springs Road in Yucca Valley on Tuesday, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The deadly crash happened on August 12 at around 2:30 p.m. on Highway 247, south of La Brisa Drive.
The California Highway Patrol said Lucy Barajas, 41, of Yucca Valley, was driving a Toyota southbound on Highway 247.
Two trucks – a flatbed truck and a Chevrolet pickup truck with a trailer – were stopped on the southbound shoulder of the highway, and the drivers of the vehicles were outside, standing on the shoulder near the trucks.
Investigators said Barajas made an unsafe turn on the shoulder and struck both drivers and the trucks.
One of the drivers, identified as Detrick Kelley, 41, also from Yucca Valley, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The other truck driver, identified as 26-year-old William Adams, suffered major injuries and was transported to Hi Desert Medical Center. Adams was later airlifted to Desert Regional Medical Center where he remains in critical condition.
CHP said Lucy Barajas was intoxicated at the time of the crash.
She was arrested on suspicion of Driving Under the Influence causing bodily injury and vehicular manslaughter. She is being held at the West Valley Detention Center on $250,000 bail.
The crash is under investigation.
