The crash was reported at about 3:15 a.m. August 10, at Sixth and Howard streets.

A man was reportedly struck by a vehicle near the intersection under unclear circumstances.

Officers performed life-saving measures on the pedestrian, who was critically hurt.

The victim was then rushed to a hospital, where he was pronounced deceased.

The driver who hit the pedestrian stayed at the scene and cooperated with investigators.

The San Francisco Police Department is conducting an investigation into the collision.
