Sierra Vista, AZ.- A girl riding a bicycle to school was hit and injured by a vehicle on Monday morning in Sierra Vista, according to the Sierra Vista Police Department.
The accident happened on Coronado Drive and Golf Links Road on Monday, August 11.
Police reported that the girl was in the crosswalk at the intersection along with her brother when she was struck by a pickup truck making a left turn.
The girl was found pinned under the the truck by the responding emergency crews.
She was pulled from beneath the vehicle and was rushed to Canyon Vista Medical Center.
The girl was later flown to a hospital in Tucson and was said to be in stable condition.
The adult driver of the truck was cited for failure to yield to a pedestrian in a crosswalk.
The incident is under investigation.
